It's Alive!!!

OK, so I'm not dead ...although I feel like it. Work has truly eaten my brain. Short staffed, more work than ever before, plus a new computer system .... all designed to put me in a rubber room. Yet another meeting tonight (there's something so wrong about eating dinner at 9 PM)...I missed Heroes because I, once again, fell asleep. I am turning into my mother who can sleep standing up, no kidding. My poor cousin must think I've fallen from the face of the earth because I can't keep my eyes open long enough to call her or Miss S back. To top it all off, I missed her birthday. I suck. Anne, I'm so very sorry.

The good news is that I've actually finished something....my first pair of Jaywalkers. I love this pattern. LOVE it.

Don't know when I'll be working on socks again soon as I'm working on AWESOME pinwheel baby blanket for a certain red head's future niece/nephew. I originally started it as a simple corner to corner garter stitch blanket & it was nice but no "oomph". The pinwheel pattern is perfect, plus I like the idea of a circle, symbolizing in some small way the circle of life. (Don't mind me, I get a little too deep when I'm overtired & getting wonky on Benadryl. Ohh, I forgot to mention ...allergies. Runny nose, itchy eyes & constant sneezing is terribly attractive in a woman of my age). Anyway, I'm working on this one in Bernat's Cotton Tots in Easter Parade & it's sooo soft, like a really well used, fluffy bath towel.

Other semi exciting news ...we have a new couch. I hate it. Hubby is happy as this one doesn't smell like dog pee. I don't care for it at all, for a lot of reasons, not the least of which, is that when I pointed out another one, a certain other female member of my household insisted she liked this one & suddenly my husband changed his mind about the blue one we were wandering over to. I knew I'd never win so I said "ok, whatever you want" and moseyed on down the aisle. Gotta pick your battles, Mom always used to say. This battle? Not so important. I'm tired of fighting for my husband's attention ...I have enough crap going on in my life without having to battle some juvenile little miss who thinks her shit is the stuff of roses. Besides, it's only a couch, right?

Love the Jaywalkers! I haven't made any yet but they are on my list of things to make.
